The idea for my final major is to create a 4-5 minute experimental music video about a man on a drug trip, so for an idea like this the genre of this music video I am picking is psychedelic, I am either going to pick psychedelic rock, psychedelic electronic or trip-hop, this document is evidence of finding artists from these genres and evidence of me contacting them. Once I have found an artist and a song to pair my music video to I will ask them to sign a contract letting me use their song. I will then continue to contact the artist who has said yes and converse with them a lot and let them have input in the idea as well and let them be in it if they want. I will let the artist also have feedback in the idea and will most probably send them a premiere copy so they can recommend their tweaks to the video.

One of my assignments was the music video assignment and I used Korean-American singer-songwriter CIFIKA (Youson Cho) with her song Only When featuring independent British Experimental rapper King, I did a music video about a man falling into a dream and being faced by his personal demons as well as a sub-human post-apocalyptic rave being featured in it, it was a purely experimental music video and as it was a really successful project and as it was successful I thought of using the same type of music that she creates to pull of my idea as it it very experimental and psychedelic, here is a screenshot from the e-mail I sent her about using either “ECHOECHO” or “I ran away” as the song for my final major music video.

In my journey of finding a psychedelic electro/psychedelic rock track to use for my music video I came across a producer called SFThrowed who makes psychedelic electronic tracks which also throw in elements of auto tune rap which is comparable to the styles of rappers Future and Migos, so this style of music is perfect because it mixes in some mellow vibes as well as some experimental and deep styles of music, this producer didn’t have any contact details on his SoundCloud page but I manages to drop him a message on SoundCloud to see if I could use his track Froze.
